Supporting community projects

GHIB is very conscious of its social responsibilities in the communities that sustain us. In Ghana we make significant annual donations from pre-tax profits (1% in FY 2008) through the Ghana International Foundation to a variety of organisations.

This discretionary charitable trust, of which the bank is the sole sponsor, has supported a wide range of well-managed development programmes and capital projects, in crucial areas of health, education and the alleviation of poverty.

Since the Trust’s formation in 2000 over 0.5m USD has been distributed.

In the United Kingdom, the bank actively supports the work of the various organs of the Corporation of London and makes contributions to other worthy causes.
