The London based Ghana International Bank Plc has appointed Edward Nana Yaw Koranteng as its East and Central Africa representative. Edward  has previously worked for Ecobank Ghana Ltd,   Access Bank Ghana, and Fidelity Bank Ghana Ltd  before joining Ghenghis Capital and Chase Bank in Nairobi.

According to a statement from Ghana International Bank Plc , (GHIB) Edward will be based in Nairobi and will be responsible for the Bank’s business in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Ethiopia amongst others. He will be the main contact for existing client relationships while developing new business for the Bank within the region.

This appointment comes after the CEO of the Bank, Mr. J R Mensah outlined his vision for the bank’s expansion into East and Central Africa. Mr J.R. Mensah said “Our Bank has been active in the East and Central African region on a non present basis for the past five years and we felt it was time to take steps towards establishing a regional presence to consolidate our existing relationships and seek to offer our products to potential relationships... Edward is a seasoned banker with considerable experience in the East and Central Africa markets and we believe he is the right person to drive our strategy. We are delighted to have him on board.”
