Calum Thomson

Calum is a qualified accountant with over 25 years’ experience in the Financial Services industry. He is a Non-Executive Director and Audit Committee Chair of BLME plc.(SMF11 approved), The Diverse Income Trust plc., the AVI Global Trust plc., Baring Emerging Europe plc., Standard Life Private Equity plc., a Non-Executive Director of Schroder PensionManagement Ltd. (SIMF 14 approved and SID.), and a Non-Executive Director of SchroderUnit Trusts Ltd. (SIMF approved).

He is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Tarbat Discovery Centre a small museum in Scotland. He acts as accounting advisor to the Audit Committee of Intercontinental Exchange.

He was a partner at Deloitte LLP for over 21 years advising and reporting to audit and executive committees across a range of private, listed, and charitable organisations. His experience extends across the financial services sector from asset managers, to banks, general insurance companies, Lloyds syndicates and managing agents, as well as private equity funds and corporates. His clients have included a wide range of managers, investment trusts, banks, sovereign wealth funds, large charities, private equity funds, general insurers, syndicates and managing agents.

During his career he has led Deloitte’s global and UK asset management groups. He has acted as an arbitrator in a dispute between two majorlife companies, hasled a number of pension mis-selling compensation projects, led a large number of corporate finance assignments and was responsible for managing a large offshore trust and wealth company prior to sale.
